Shannon + Billy Engagement | Society Hill

Associate photographer Angela met up with the adorable Shannon and Billy in Philly to shoot one awesome engagement session. Angela, being from “the neighborhood” herself, never ceases to amaze us with how much her love for the city really comes through in her images and Shannon and Billy’s love for each other shined just as bright. This is definitely one wedding Angela is looking forward to and so are we.

Kristina + Steve Engagement | Sayen House and Gardens

Associate photographer Cecilia met up with Kristina and Steve at the beautiful Sayen House and Gardens for one killer engagement session. As cute as this couple is together it was their ADORABLE pup Oliver, that stole the show. He was the most well behaved boy so much so that Cecilia and the soon to be bride and groom even joked that Steve could learn a thing or two from Oliver on good behavior. Haha. In all seriousness this was one amazing shoot and for sure one of the weddings we are most looking forward to.

Brittany + Hugh Engagement | Tyler State Park

Associate photographer Angela met up with Brittany and Hugh at the beautiful, scenic Tyler State Park for one pretty adventurous Engagement Session. If you’ve seen our Instagram stories you would know that Angela even got in the water at one point…Why?…because she will do whatever it takes to GET THE SHOT, and we LOVE that!! We are loving this outdoorsy session and really digging the little pockets of light Angela used so creatively to capture Brittany and Hugh in a very romantic kind of way. Awesome job Angela. This is definitely one wedding we are all excited for.

Brooke + John Engagement Session | Morris Arboretum

It was kind of a sticky, humid day but not a single complaint from Brooke or John at their insanely beautiful engagement session at the Morris Arboretum. Associate photographer Cecilia met up with the couple at this scenic venue and the rest is history. Cecilia recalls Brooke being a bit nervous, which is completely understandable, but John was right there for her to calm her down and in the end, create some really beautiful imagery together. Morris Arboretum did not disappoint in the slightest and Cecilia delivered once again. Congrats to the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. we cannot wait for the big day.

Sara + John | Perona Farms

Sara and John got married at the gorgeous Perona Farms. This is such an incredible venue offering a rustic atmosphere with a modern elegance. Sara and John were up for anything associate photographer Jenna had in mind for them when it came to their portraits just as long as they were together!! Jenna along with Inna did an outstanding job capturing this perfect new bride and groom on what they called their “best day ever”, which was a theme through out the day. Congrats again to the newlyweds.

Angela along with the soon-to-be bride and groom explored the town and found some of the cutest little gems for intimate photos. They even made it just in time to the park for that amazing sunset light. What a gorgeous session, great job once again, Angela.

Kelly + Brett | Terrain

Kelly and Brett’s wedding at The Terrain in Devon was absolutely beautiful. The way associate photographers Angela and Ben captured the true emotion including this beautiful bride’s smile throughout the day was perfection, and you will definitely notice while scrolling through. This was Angela’s first time shooting at the new Terrain and she fell in LOVE. Before arriving at the venue Angela, Ben, and the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. made a quick detour and stopped at Jenkins Arboretum for their first look and portraits. It was absolutely stunning and an amazing backdrop which produced some really breathtaking images. Victoria + Corey Engagement Session | Philadelphia Art Museum

Associate photographer Angela met up with this stunning duo Victoria and Corey at the Philadelphia Art Museum for their engagement shoot. This couple is certainly in love but what’s even cooler is the fact that they seem to be best friends as well. As soon as Angela met them it was obvious they were a super good looking couple but when their awesome personalities came out that’s when they really shined. They laughed and joked with each other and looked incredible doing it. This is definitely a wedding we are all looking forward to, and Angela once again did an amazing job.

Becki + Eric Engagement - The Pinnacle Overlook

Want epic engagement photos overlooking some of the most beautiful landscapes WITHOUT the hike?? Well, look no further than The Pinnacle Overlook. The skies were angry and the rain was coming down in sheets as associate photographer Cecilia along with the newly engaged Becki and Eric made the drive up to this scenic oasis, but the rain wouldn’t last long. Just as they began their shoot the sky cleared and the sun showed its magnificence making for one insane photoshoot. The Pinnacle Overlook will definitely be a new favorite spot for Twisted Oaks which is only fitting as Becki and Eric’s wedding is going to be at one of our other favorites, Winterthur. What an amazing couple whose laughter and love shines through in these gorgeous images. This is definitely a wedding Cecilia is looking forward to but in the meantime check out this awesome blog.

Bianca + Octavian | Stotesbury Mansion

It is always such an honor when a past client refers us to a close friend, or as is in this case, family member. Bianca is the sister of a past groom of Twisted Oaks, and we could not have been more excited when she reached out to us to photograph her and Octavian’s Stotesbury Mansion wedding. Associate photographer’s Cecilia along with Kaylyn did a fantastic job capturing this beautiful wedding. Cecilia said it was “just like seeing old friends again”, as she raved about the newlyweds. It was a beautiful day but it was super cold and unbelievably windy, so most of the portraits were done inside the gorgeous Stotesbury Mansion, which definitely did not disappoint. Great job once again Cecilia and Kaylyn and congrats again to the new Mr. and Mrs.

Kelsey and Ron have known each other “forever” and their big day was finally here. The day could not have gone any better, and the amazing Cairnwood Estate was the perfect venue as they said “I Do” surrounded by everyone they love. Cecilia and Inna did a fantastic job capturing this adorable couple on their most special day. Congrats again to this new bride and her handsome groom.

Christine + Mario Engagement Session | Grounds for Sculpture

With their wedding fast approaching associate photographer Cecilia was super stoked to get up to Grounds for Sculpture with the soon to be newlyweds, Christine and Mario. The scenery at this place never disappoints and for Christine and Mario this was exactly the style they envisioned when planning their engagement session. It was a gorgeous day spent at an equally gorgeous place, and we cannot wait until June for this wedding.

Eric | The Best of 2018

Now that it’s almost May, we figured that it would be a good time to post another “Best of 2018” blog post. I mean, as long as it’s still 2019 we’re good right? Right. The other thing to keep in mind is that Eric still hasn’t shot his first wedding for Twisted Oaks yet, we knew we just had to get it published before then. Once that happens we have no doubts that the “Best of 2019” folder will start filling up, and quickly. I can guarantee that if you were to scroll through the images below without reading this first you would never guess that Eric Talerico is our newest Lead Photographer who spent the entire 2018 wedding season as a 2nd shooter. It’s part of the process to become a Lead for Twisted Oaks Studio although none of us have any doubts that he could have easily jumped right into that role without any issues. With that being said, it’s been quite exciting watching him continue to grow as not only a photographer, but as an artist and a storyteller who has taken full advantage of soaking up as much experience as possible. He’s also become a good friend and one of the most honest, humble, and hardest working human beings that I know. We’re extremely lucky to have him on the team and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for him.

Having first met Eric a few years ago at a weekend workshop that I hosted in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania, I don’t think either one of us ever saw this coming. Luckily, we stayed in touch and even though he was new to wedding photography at the time it was pretty easy to see the natural talent and artistic style he was working towards creating. While I wish I could take full credit for the talented photographer that he is today, I simply can’t. He was very smart and spent the past few years soaking up every ounce of knowledge and experience that he could from the many workshops he attended hosted by some of the best in the industry. I’d like to think that I at least played a small role in creating this beast of a photographer, but either way, Sandi and I are extremely thankful to have him as part of the Twisted Oaks family. Most importantly, excited for our clients who will be sharing their big day with him over the next couple of years.

Just three short years after meeting him for the first time as basically a rookie, Eric is now one of our most popular photographers, has helped teach at one of my workshops, and has become a regular contributor to SLR Lounge (one of the most popular educational websites there is for photography). It’s gonna be one hell of a year and as impressive as the images are in this blog post, I have no doubts that next year’s post will put it to shame. With that being said, if you’re a Twisted Oaks bride that booked Eric for your big day, there’s a slight chance that scrolling through the gallery below might not be a good idea. You’ll probably wish you were getting married sooner :)
