Want epic engagement photos overlooking some of the most beautiful landscapes WITHOUT the hike?? Well, look no further than The Pinnacle Overlook. The skies were angry and the rain was coming down in sheets as associate photographer Cecilia along with the newly engaged Becki and Eric made the drive up to this scenic oasis, but the rain wouldn’t last long. Just as they began their shoot the sky cleared and the sun showed its magnificence making for one insane photoshoot. The Pinnacle Overlook will definitely be a new favorite spot for Twisted Oaks which is only fitting as Becki and Eric’s wedding is going to be at one of our other favorites, Winterthur. What an amazing couple whose laughter and love shines through in these gorgeous images. This is definitely a wedding Cecilia is looking forward to but in the meantime check out this awesome blog.
It is always such an honor when a past client refers us to a close friend, or as is in this case, family member. Bianca is the sister of a past groom of Twisted Oaks, and we could not have been more excited when she reached out to us to photograph her and Octavian’s Stotesbury Mansion wedding. Associate photographer’s Cecilia along with Kaylyn did a fantastic job capturing this beautiful wedding. Cecilia said it was “just like seeing old friends again”, as she raved about the newlyweds. It was a beautiful day but it was super cold and unbelievably windy, so most of the portraits were done inside the gorgeous Stotesbury Mansion, which definitely did not disappoint. Great job once again Cecilia and Kaylyn and congrats again to the new Mr. and Mrs.

Associate photographers Cecilia and Inna teamed up for their first wedding of 2019, and it could not have been more perfect. Kelsey and Ron have known each other “forever” and their big day was finally here. The day could not have gone any better, and the amazing Cairnwood Estate was the perfect venue as they said “I Do” surrounded by everyone they love. Cecilia and Inna did a fantastic job capturing this adorable couple on their most special day. Congrats again to this new bride and her handsome groom.

With their wedding fast approaching associate photographer Cecilia was super stoked to get up to Grounds for Sculpture with the soon to be newlyweds, Christine and Mario. The scenery at this place never disappoints and for Christine and Mario this was exactly the style they envisioned when planning their engagement session. It was a gorgeous day spent at an equally gorgeous place, and we cannot wait until June for this wedding.
Now that it’s almost May, we figured that it would be a good time to post another “Best of 2018” blog post. I mean, as long as it’s still 2019 we’re good right? Right. The other thing to keep in mind is that Eric still hasn’t shot his first wedding for Twisted Oaks yet, we knew we just had to get it published before then. Once that happens we have no doubts that the “Best of 2019” folder will start filling up, and quickly. I can guarantee that if you were to scroll through the images below without reading this first you would never guess that Eric Talerico is our newest Lead Photographer who spent the entire 2018 wedding season as a 2nd shooter. It’s part of the process to become a Lead for Twisted Oaks Studio although none of us have any doubts that he could have easily jumped right into that role without any issues. With that being said, it’s been quite exciting watching him continue to grow as not only a photographer, but as an artist and a storyteller who has taken full advantage of soaking up as much experience as possible. He’s also become a good friend and one of the most honest, humble, and hardest working human beings that I know. We’re extremely lucky to have him on the team and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for him.
Having first met Eric a few years ago at a weekend workshop that I hosted in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania, I don’t think either one of us ever saw this coming. Luckily, we stayed in touch and even though he was new to wedding photography at the time it was pretty easy to see the natural talent and artistic style he was working towards creating. While I wish I could take full credit for the talented photographer that he is today, I simply can’t. He was very smart and spent the past few years soaking up every ounce of knowledge and experience that he could from the many workshops he attended hosted by some of the best in the industry. I’d like to think that I at least played a small role in creating this beast of a photographer, but either way, Sandi and I are extremely thankful to have him as part of the Twisted Oaks family. Most importantly, excited for our clients who will be sharing their big day with him over the next couple of years.
Just three short years after meeting him for the first time as basically a rookie, Eric is now one of our most popular photographers, has helped teach at one of my workshops, and has become a regular contributor to SLR Lounge (one of the most popular educational websites there is for photography). It’s gonna be one hell of a year and as impressive as the images are in this blog post, I have no doubts that next year’s post will put it to shame. With that being said, if you’re a Twisted Oaks bride that booked Eric for your big day, there’s a slight chance that scrolling through the gallery below might not be a good idea. You’ll probably wish you were getting married sooner :)
Morris Arboretum, what an amazing place for not only weddings but incredible engagement shoots like this one associate photographer Cecilia captured for Nadia and Anthony. It was a fun night on one of the most gorgeous days in March. Morris Arboretum provided the beautiful scenery and Cecilia did an incredible job capturing these soon to be newlyweds who are obviously so in love with each other. The night wasn’t complete though without walking the streets of Chestnut Hill and grabbing some “Oh so delicious pizza” (Cecilia’s exact words), from the famous Cosimo’s Pizza Cafe. Check out this awesome engagement session, but be prepared to feel the sudden craving of that hot, cheesy goodness by the time you’re finished scrolling through.
Love, laughter, and friendship are the three words associate photographer Cecilia used to describe Ashley and Bryan’s beautiful Holly Hedge Estate wedding. Cecilia along with Eric did a phenomenal job capturing some truly gorgeous images and they each expressed just how honored they were to be a part of this day and witness such true love, not only between bride and groom, but a love that was felt through out the entire bridal party and all the guests. Great job again Cecilia an Eric, and congrats again to this new bride and groom.

Since the very beginning of Twisted Oaks, Batsto Village has always been one of our favorite places to shoot. There are so many different options as far as scenery goes and there was not even a question in our minds when Megan and Lucas requested rustic, outdoor photos for their engagement session, that Batsto would be the perfect place. Associate photographer Eric nailed it once again with this awesome engagement session, and he is definitely looking forward to this upcoming wedding at the Merion.
It was an absolutely freezing cold day in the middle of February but these two did not even complain once. Bridget and Mike, along with their pup Crockett, met associate photographer Cecilia and together they explored the park taking in the scenery and cuddling up to try and keep warm as best they could. These two are so laid back and easy going. Cecilia mentioned how much they trusted her and how willing they were to follow her lead, and it totally paid off. Check out this beautiful engagement session.
When it comes to animals I don’t know if there is a better match than our very own associate photographer Angela. She is a true animal lover and the mother to her VERY cherished doggy, Murphy, so when it came time for Kelly and Brett’s engagement session in Philly it was a given that the answer was a big “YES” when they asked to bring their adorable pup along. The 4 of them explored Fitler Square and Schuylkill River Park capturing some truly beautiful images along the way. As the sun began to set they all realized just how perfect it was going to be, so they headed over to Kelly and Brett’s apartment where they all made their way to the rooftop for the most perfect and romantic sunset pictures. Another great job by Angela who says she cannot wait for this wedding in May.
Talk about a one of a kind wedding. Bridget and Steve thought of every detail right down to the GORGEOUS CUSTOM MADE bar built by the groom himself, which totally looks like something that belongs in the Twisted Oaks Studio…Hint, Hint. This wedding was absolutely stunning and The Ladenberg Barn at Nonantum Farms could not have been a more perfect setting for these newlyweds to celebrate their special day. It was truly a gorgeous wedding with two really wonderful people who, along with their guests, definitely soaked up every moment of fun their day had to offer from the drinks to the food to the dancing. What a fun night! Congrats again to these newlyweds on a perfect day and a beautiful marriage.

From the moment associate photographer Angela met Marley, Nathan, and their sweet pup at their engagement shoot she knew this was going to be an amazing wedding day, and boy was she right. Long Beach Island is an extremely special place to both Marley and Nathan, as well as their family, so it was no surprise when they chose the gorgeous Gables Historic Inn and Restaurant as their venue. The bride and her mother, along with her bridesmaids, were relaxed and couldn’t have been sweeter as they prepared for this very special day smiling and laughing joyfully the entire time. Nathan and his groomsmen shared a special moment as they got ready at their family beach house in LBI. The ceremony was extremely special and unique at the LBI Historical Museum and truly completed this special beach themed wedding. Associate photographers Angela and Kaylyn did an outstanding job once again capturing this beautiful and special wedding. Congrats again to the new bride and groom.

It was a pretty cloudy, overcast day, but that does not make one difference at all when you have the stunning and picturesque setting of The Old Mill as your wedding venue teamed up with the extremely talented Twisted Oaks associate photographers, Cecilia and Eric. Cecilia and Eric did a phenomenal job capturing some absolutely gorgeous photos for the new bride and groom, Emily and Rob. This couple is equally as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Everyone had an amazing day enjoying the delicious food and fun entertainment, all while surrounded by the rustic beauty that is The Old Mill. We absolutely love shooting here, and I think when you scroll through this perfect wedding, you will see exactly why.
